Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds announce their first UK and European headlining tour since 2017, playing 27 shows in 17 countries this autumn. The band is widely regarded as one of the best live acts in the world today, and these shows promise to be some of the most anticipated of 2024.
The tour begins on September 24 in Oberhausen, Germany, and ends in Paris, France on November 17. It also includes six shows across the UK. The tour will follow the release of their 18th studio album, 'Wild God', on August 30. The new album was announced last week along with the release of the title track.
“I never think about how an album will be released; It never, never occurs to me. The lyric writing process is too difficult to consider ideas like that. But when I listen to 'Wild God' now, I think we can really do something epic with these songs live. We are very excited about it; The album seems like it was made for the stage.” – Nick Cave
The band will play new material along with songs from their extensive catalogue. Support will come from one of three special guests throughout the dates: Dry Cleaning, The Murder Capital and Black Country, New Road.

Released on August 30, the first taste of the band's 18th studio album is titled 'Wild God', which is available now LISTEN BELOW:
“I hope the album has the same effect on listeners that it has had on me.” Cave says. It comes out of the speaker and I let myself go. It's a complicated album, but it's also deeply and joyfully infectious. There's never a master plan when we make a record. The records rather reflect the emotional state of the writers and musicians who played them. Listening to this, I don't know; “It seems like we're happy.”
Across ten tracks, the band dances between convention and experimentation, taking left turns and detours that enhance the rich images and emotions of Cave's moving narratives. It's the sound of a group emboldened by reconnection and flight. There are moments that touch fondly on Bad Seeds' past, but they are fleeting and only serve to imbue the band's relentless, restless forward movement.
Cave and Warren Ellis produced the album, which was mixed by David Fridmann. Cave began writing it on New Year's Day 2023. With sessions at Miraval in Provence and Soundtree in London, the Bad Seeds added their unique alchemy, with additional performances from Colin Greenwood (bass) and Luis Almau (nylon-string guitar, acoustic guitar).
“'Wild God'… you can't fuck with this album. When it hits, it hits. He wakes you up. It moves you. I love that”. Nick Cave
'Wild God' will be released on Bad Seed in association with Play It Again Sam on standard and limited edition streaming, CD and vinyl. The song list is as follows:
