A Jonas Brothers concert has been interrupted after a laser pointer caused Nick Jonas to run off stage.
The concert, at the O2 Arena in Prague, was delayed briefly after an audience member aimed a laser pointer at the singing star, causing him to quickly exit stage left for safety reasons.
Footage of the incident shows Jonas making a ‘time out’ sign with his hands, meant to indicate danger to his security team. He then scrambled down the steps to the stage and ran through an aisle, past fans and out of sight.
“We can confirm that the Jonas Brothers’ performance had to be interrupted for several minutes due to the use of a prohibited laser pointer by the person,” an O2 Arena spokesperson told Variety. “The organising service responded to this fact. After a few minutes, the band continued their performance.”
Jonas has not yet publicly addressed the incident.
Jonas Brothers are currently playing the rescheduled European leg of the band’s Five Albums, One Night tour, which comes to a close tonight in Krakow, Poland.
Artist safety concerns have also recently been raised by Adele, Kelsea Ballerini, Harry Styles and Bebe Rexha after a string of incidents where fans hurled objects onto the stage while they were performing.
Taylor Swift cancelled three shows in Vienna in August over a terrorist threat.
