Nicki Minaj has assured her fans that her docu-series is “still coming”.
In July 2022, the Super Freaky Girl rapper released the trailer for a six-part documentary series titled Nicki and told her fans that it's “coming soon.”
Nicki was asked what happened to the project on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday night and explained that it was put on hold due to delays with her Pink Friday 2 album.
“Because my album wasn't finished when I was originally going to release it, I didn't want the documentary to come out without the music, that wouldn't make sense to me,” he shared. “Because of that, this network had to go with something else and I couldn't force a documentary out.
“Now we have two people who are really interested and I think it's going to be a nicer or easier experience to bridge the documentary now with the music. I'll tell you more about that soon, but the documentary is definitely coming.”
The 41-year-old rapper insisted her fans will experience “a different level of emotional angst” watching the documentary because they've had time to digest Pink Friday 2, which was released last week.
The documentary is complete, however, the rapper would like to add new footage to “reflect the aftermath of Pink Friday 2.”
While she didn't share a release date, Nicki told host Andy that she'd like it out before her world tour kicks off in March.
