Nicki Minaj has turned down Kanye West's request to put their collaboration New Body on his album.
Rapper Stronger reached out to the Starships hitmaker on X/Twitter on Friday to ask her to sign her verse New Body which appears on his Vultures album.
He posted an image of a text message he sent to Nicki, which read: “Hi it's Ye. Can I call you for clearing the new body on the new album.”
The Super Freaky Girl star responded in an Instagram Live in which she insisted she doesn't want the old collaboration to come out at the same time as her new album, Pink Friday 2, which dropped last week.
“Chili, this train has left the station, okay?” she explained. “No disrespect at all, I just put out a brand new album. Why would I put out a song that's been out for three years? Come on, guys.”
Kanye has yet to respond, however, he did play New Body – featuring Nicki's verse – during a Vultures listening party in Miami earlier this week.
Kanye and Nicki first recorded New Body with Ty Dolla $ign in 2018 for rapper Gold Digger Yandhi's album. The project was eventually scrapped, but the song's demo was leaked online.
The Pound the Alarm singer told Hot 106 last year that “the ship has sailed” for the song.
“Audiences loved New Body. Like, New Body is the biggest hit that never came out,” he said. “Everybody knows that was the hit that got away.”
Vultures, Kanye's collaboration album with Ty Dolla $ign, was set to drop on Friday, but has yet to materialize.
