Craving for intimacy afterwards a difficult breakup is one of the worst feelings.
On Friday, Nicole Zignago released her single “Mimos” with Camilo and premiered her gorgeous video, directed by Camilo's wife Eva Luna Montaner, featuring Rolling rock. The track hears the two stars sing about the often toxic back-and-forth following a difficult romantic breakup.
“For the video concept, I gave Eva Luna free rein to experiment,” says Zigango Rolling rock. “I admire her a lot as a person, as a mother, as a friend, as a director. [With the visuals,] beautifully narrates with pictures what it's like to be in a relationship that goes up and down, comes and goes. It's one of my favorite videos.”
The video sees the musician pair posing through an empty house as they sing the heartbreaking lyrics to each other from different rooms of the same house. “The atmosphere during the video shoot and in the recording studio was so beautiful, so light, so easy that I just get pure fond memories of it,” says Zigango.
The Peruvian singer worked on “Mimos” for nearly five years and said it was a “huge honor” to play her best friend Camilo for the song. “Not only am I honored to call him a friend, but I'm also a fan of his and working on this song with him is a dream come true,” he says. “Everything has stayed in the family.”
Camilo echoed his excitement at working with Zigango, calling her one of the “most talented and unique artists I know.”
“It's my first collaboration with an artist from Peru, which is one of the countries that has been most open to my music and has been very important in my career, so I'm very happy to be able to return all that love with this emotional song Camilo says Rolling rock.
'Mimos' follows the release of Zignago's '26 – ni trade ni temprano' in February. Her latest project arrived in 2022 with the EP That's how I feel todaywhich earned her the Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
“This whole album will be raw, vulnerable, honest, as we would say in Spanish: sin pelos en la lengua,” he said.
