Years before that Nike Air Foamposite One were easily one of the most popular silhouettes on those mean streets, and even though today many sneakerheads ignore them for Jordans, Dunks, and even Crocs, Nike seems poised to try and restore the hype behind its late-decade gem of the '90s in the future.
With OG sneakerheads patiently awaiting the re-release of the classic “Galaxy” Air Foamposites next year, Nike has decided to do a new iteration of its timeless creation, which also pays homage to a hugely popular video game franchise that also blew up in mid 90s.
According Hypebeast, Nike will be releasing the “Tekken 8” Air Foamposite One at some point in the future, and truth be told, we're feeling low-key about this colorway and design. Similar to the classic “Eggplant” Foamposites colorway, the “Tekken 8” boasts some very cool details that will make them stand out from the rest and is sure to be a hit with video game fans and sneakerheads alike.
Per Hypebeast:
An iridescent shell elevates the look, with a themed print covering the glossy finish. From there, the black reaches the leather eyes, laces and tongue. Special Tekken motifs are thrown into the mix on the tongue and sock branding, while a red 'FIST' graphic adorns the icy translucent outsole. That's not all – a special box with the game cover by Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama is also included.
At the time of writing, Nike has not confirmed when this Tekken 8-themed version of the Air Foamposite One will release. Stay tuned for updates as we expect it to arrive this September via Nike SNKRS and select retailers with a starting price of $250 USD.
The box itself might be enough to get heads lining up for these, but we'll have to wait and see.
Would you rock the 'Tekken 8' Air Foamposites or are you still cool with the classic silhouette these days?
