Activision just dropped Call of Duty: War zone Mobile and one of the millions of people who downloaded the app and gave it a whirl was Memphis rapper NLE Choppa. Rapper “Shotta Flow” has been into the whole rap star thing, so he now considers himself a former gamer.
“I don't have a lot of time for it right now,” Choppa, who participated in Thursday's (March 21) Warzone Mobile Streamathon, told Hip-Hop Wired. “Once upon a time I was deep. However, I still do it in my spare time. I was like 2K, [Grand Theft Auto], Call of Dutyall these different games.”
Obviously, becoming a star rapper takes a lot of time (a record deal with Warner Bros., two hit albums, and touring will do that) so the hours he spent in spades had to suffer.
Still, Choppa remains in tune Cod (“Every new Call Of Duty I'm copping.”), and gave Call of Duty: War zone Mobile a thumbs up even though it seems to be better on PS5. “I was just playing it in my green room, it's really cool with the controller connected to the phone. I don't know if I'm that sharp with tapping on the screen, but the joystick, I could work on that for sure.”
Going back to music for a second, he just dropped a song called “AMF” featuring Flau'jae, the female rapper who happens to currently be a star point guard on the LSU women's basketball team. “She came with her, her mom, my mom and me. Just respecting the relationship they have as a daughter and as a mother-in-law and it's the same with my mom and my manager,” Chopa said. “We bonded that way and just always supported Flau'jae from basketball and into track and field.”
Speaking of Flau'jae dropped 14 in LSU's win over Rice.
Choppa also says he's seriously retiring his 'Shotta Flow', with the latest, 'Shotta Flow 7' having been released in February. Another series kicks off, but for Activision's sake, we won't mention the somewhat NSFW title here. But back to Call Of Duty: Warzone Mobile and gaming in general, will always find time for a good reason.
“It's really just a break from the world,” Choppa explains of why he plays video games. “It's just a break from who I am. Just to be able to experience that inner childish feeling againbeing able to play games is the goal for me, just to feel like a kid.”
Sounds like a plan. Call of Duty: War zone Mobile is currently available on iOS and Android mobile devices.
