A documentary chronicling the deadly terrorist attack at the Nova Music festival in Israel on October 7, 2023 will debut on Paramount+. The streamer announced Thursday (May 16) that the See It Now Studios original documentary We'll Dance Again will have its world premiere in the fall, one year after the surprise attack by Hamas militants that left more than 400 dead and dozens kidnapped at the peaceful EDM rally in the desert.
“The human cost of what happened on October 7u in Israel and the war in Gaza was devastating. We cannot tell everyone's story. This film is about innocent young people who are forced to fight for their survival,” said See It Now Studios president Susan Zyrinsky in a statement. “It is a harrowing story of unfathomable tragedy, but also of bravery, sacrifice and heroism.”
The film's description notes that Nova Music “was supposed to be a celebration of life, love and music for thousands of young people, but it became one of the first targets when Hamas launched the deadliest terrorist attack in Israel's history.” The film recreates the day of Israel's worst terrorist attack, as told through the eyes of more than a dozen survivors of the Nova attack, many of whom filmed their experience as the carnage unfolded. In addition, the film will include eyewitness accounts from more than a dozen survivors, as well as footage taken by both the victims and the perpetrators of Hamas.
The film was directed by Yariv Mozer (The Devil's Confession: The Lost Eichmann Tapes).
The surprise attack on the festival was part of a coordinated attack by Hamas militants, who crossed the border into Israel on the morning of October 7, killing more than 1,200 Israeli men, women and children according to Israeli authorities, as well as taking more than 250 hostages, nearly half of whom are believed to be still being held — dead or alive — in Gaza.
The deadliest day in Israel's history since the Holocaust sparked a strong backlash, which has so far resulted in the deaths of more than 35,000 Palestinians according to Gaza health authorities. Fierce daily attacks by Israeli fighters in the now eight-month war have plunged Gaza into a dire humanitarian crisis, experts say, with much of the region's infrastructure destroyed and more than a million Gazans on its brink. are you hungry. Amid calls from the United States and other nations for an immediate ceasefire, anti-war protests have erupted on college campuses in the US and around the world in recent months.
