NxWorries, the duo formed by Anderson .Paak and producer Knxwledge, have announced their long-awaited second album, Why Lawd?, out June 7 via Stones Throw Records. As a preview, they shared the new single, “86Sentra.” stream it below.
.Paak and Knxwledge have not shared the full track list for Why Lawd? yet, but a press release confirms that the project will include the 2022 single “Where I Go” featuring ELLA and last year’s “Daydreaming.”
Clocking in at just under two minutes, “86Sentra” is packed with metaphors and clever punchlines, courtesy of a hungry-sounding .Paak. “Nickel Nine Gripper to all you Jack Rippers,” he raps with a buttery smooth delivery. “The driver inside has a license to hit you/Jump out of the pot and lick your Top Ramen.”
The single is accompanied by a visualizer created by Rhymezlikedimez that features the duo in Technicolor cartoon form as they travel around Los Angeles. Watch it below.
Why Lawd? will arrive eight years after the release of NxWorries' debut album, Yes, Law! Outside of the group, .Paak has released several solo albums and teamed up with Bruno Mars to form Silk Sonic. Meanwhile, Knxwledge has worked with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Earl Sweat and Action Bronson.
