In the great comic wars, night court Actor Nyambi Nyambi appears to be a Marvel man, and that's largely due to Kim Jung Gi's extensive, interconnected covers for Marvel's Second Civil War series. Listen to Nyambi discuss how Jung Gi's art influenced all aspects of her own work in this episode of The Spark Parade above, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Captivated by Jung Gi's masterful art, Nyambi attended multiple live demonstrations by the South Korean illustrator before his passing in 2022. While perhaps an unusual place to find inspiration for acting and writing, Jung Gi's work left an indelible mark in Nyambi, especially the Second Civil War covers.
“For me, when I write a script, I see it as images, images on a page,” he explains. “They are images that I don't know, so I try to personalize them so that they eventually become mine. It's as if I have had a relationship with those images, with the environment, with anything that has happened around me, my entire life. That's why when I saw him draw that piece, it was a revelation for me as an actor.”
