THE Oasis the reunion continues. Following recent tour dates across the UK and Ireland, North America, South America and Australia, there is now hope on the horizon for Britpop fans in Asia.
On Tuesday night (November 19), the the band's official Instagram account shared images of billboards that appeared in Tokyo, Japan, and Seoul, South Korea, which appear to tease a major announcement on Friday (November 22). See images of the billboards below.
Featuring a black-and-white photo of brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, the emails replicate the campaign used in recent months to announce shows in other territories around the world. Oasis last appeared in Japan and South Korea in the spring of 2009, including concerts in Nagoya and Osaka, as well as a night at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul. The shows will likely take place around the band's upcoming Australian dates, which are scheduled for November 2025.
The Oasis Live '25 tour has 38 bookings so far and will kick off on July 4th at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The band is scheduled to tour through the fall of 2025, with the run scheduled to conclude with stops on November 22-23 at Estádio Morum BIS in São Paulo, Brazil.
The band has not released any material since 2008 Unearth your soul. As of now, Oasis have not officially confirmed that a new record is coming, nor have they revealed a release date for their eighth studio LP. Back in September, Liam answered a fan's question about whether there would be any new music, answering “Yes, it's already over,” without offering any further details. However, earlier this week (November 16), Liam retracted those claimstelling fans “it was a laugh”.
Oasis endured an amicable split in 2009, after years of headlines related to the fierce rivalry of the Gallagher brothers. Lead songwriter, guitarist and occasional vocalist Noel quit the band after a backstage row with lead singer Liam at a show in Paris that year. The brothers, now 57 and 51, have not performed live since, although they have continued to play Oasis songs during their solo concerts and side projects.
All shows announced so far on the Oasis Live '25 tour have sold out. Cast and The Verve's Richard Ashcroft will open in the UK and Ireland, and Cage the Elephant will support the reformed band on the North American leg. Special guests for the remaining dates have yet to be revealed.
