As the curtain falls on her masterpiece tour, looking in the ODESZA mirror has never been more appealing. Ever the aesthetes, they are now preparing to break it by inviting their fans into a utopia of their own creation.
ODESZA's Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight have announced “ECHOES,” a one-of-a-kind art installation coming to their concerts at the Gorge Amphitheater July 4-6. These momentous shows will conclude the “Finale” leg of the duo's most recent tour, “The Last Goodbye,” which many regard in high regard as the best live show of their career.
They revealed “ECHOES” under the first episode of a four-part video series developed by UPROXX Studios. The ambitious installation is facilitated by the processing power of a Dragon mouth-PC from Qualcomm, with whom Mills and Knight are collaborating to bring it to life along with SETUP.
“In building the 'Finale' set, we're doing things we haven't done before,” Mills said.
The installation is the result of a dizzying two-month design sprint. Mills and Knight are manifesting a universe where the digital and the sublime converge within the hallowed grounds of the Gorge, which is located approximately three hours south of Western Washington University, where they first met in 2009.
Fans will agree that ODESZA's music is best experienced in the cradle of nature's greatness. And there is no more appropriate location for “ECHOES” than the idyllic Gorge, widely recognized among the country's most picturesque concert venues.
“We want [fans] entering a new world,” Knight added. “This facility we're trying to build is going to be something very, very interesting.”
