Offset bluntly shut down persistent rumors of an alleged beef with his Migos partner Quavo on Tuesday when he posted a short, but loving message to Q on his 33rd birthday. HipHopDX posted a screenshot from an Instagram Story by Offset in which he wrote, “Happy gday my brother @quavohuncho I love you 4L [for life].”
The message came with a throwback photo of the trio as young men. The Atlanta trio, who formed in 2008, have had a rocky few years, starting in 2022 when Offset appeared to hint at conflict within the group on his song “Messy,” releasing a video for the track a day after his cousin Takeoff, He was killed in a shooting at a bowling alley in Houston. the track was credited to the pair's side project, Unc & Phew, whose only album it was Made for Infinity links only.
Shortly after, the pair reportedly got into a fight backstage at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, which Offset denied in a post. “How I look like fighting with my brother about n—it's crazy,” Offset wrote on Twitter at the time without being identified. Then, according to TMZthe Migos bandmates reportedly hit it off backstage because Quavo allegedly blocked Offset from appearing onstage with him for “Without You,” the former's Takeoff tribute song.
Migos' most recent album was 2021 civilization and in an October 2023 interview with Hot 97Offset appeared to confirm that the band broke up, saying it wasn't due to issues with Quavo, but rather the death of the “glue” that held them together, Takeoff.
