Belfast music hub Oh Yeah Music Center are delighted to announce the release of this year's featured EP from their annual talent development programme, Scratch My Progress. The release features new tracks from four of Northern Ireland's most imminent musical talents.
All songs have been recorded as part of the program that runs from September to May of each year. This year's events include HY:LY, Hit car, Garrett Laurieand Martha Greer.
Scratch My Progress is a mentoring, showcase and hands-on support program for new music. The specific talent development programme, now in its twelfth year, is supported by the PRS Foundation. Oh yes, also grateful for the support of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Belfast City Council.
Over the years, Scratch My Progress talent development artists have had one-on-one sessions with PRS, PPL, PRSF, YouTube Music, Musicians Union, First Music Contact, Atlantic Records (Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX), Parlophone Records (Gorillaz). ), Domino Records (Anna Calvi, Arctic Monkeys), Jeff Robinson PR (The 1975, Belsonic), ATC-Live (PJ Harvey, SOAK), Deezer, Ditto, Runway Artists, Paragon, Body & Soul Festival and many more.
Since 2011, the Scratch My Progress program has mentored a wide range of talent, including NI Music Prize winners Ferna, Sasha Samara and Sister Ghost, music and media personalities Gemma Bradley (BBC Radio 1) and Emer Maguire , and artists who represent alternative rock. , acoustic genres, rap, pop, punk, folk and electronic.
Local punk band Problem Patterns, who participated in Scratch My Progress in 2022, had a very successful debut album released through Alcopop Records with a sold-out launch concert. They also won the coveted 'Video of the Year' award at the NI Music Prize 2023 and recently appeared on Steve Lamacq's show for Independent Venue Week, to name just a few of their successful moments since leaving the show.
