Talking to you Magical Breakfast yesterday (Dec. 18), the artist explained (via Music news): “The song I have for Eurovision I made with Danny L Harle, who is a great pop producer, and we basically did a whole album.
“So I've got a lot of music ready, so I'm so, so excited for it to come.”
Alexander last released an album in the form of Years & Years' third effort “Night Call,” which arrived in early 2022. The project saw the singer go solo and part ways with his former bandmates Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Türkmen.
This month shared Years & Years “A really bad fun idea”a new song for the film's soundtrack Bonus Track.
At another point in his conversation with Magical BreakfastAlexander has revealed that his upcoming Eurovision track is not a ballad. “If it was a cocktail it would be an amaretto sour,” he said.
“It was hard to keep it [the Eurovision news] a secret! I told my mom and then I said, “You mustn't tell anyone,” and she felt very scared that she had to carry the secret. But I've wanted to do it for a long time – ever since I was a kid. So this is so exciting, I can't believe it.”
Alexander said before BBC News: “It will be electronic, something you can dance to. But I can't say much more than that.
“I can't wait to get out there and meet the fans and everyone else involved. It will be the craziest experience of my life.”
Danny L Harle, who produced and co-wrote the song, has also collaborated with Charli XCX, Dua Lipa and Caroline Polachek.
Alexander said he wants to “wave the flag for the country in the gayest way” at Eurovision 2024.
After the announcement, he explained how he “wanted to do [Eurovision] for a while' and 'I felt it was the right time to start releasing music under my own name'.
