After downloading one break from touring, Orville Peck is ready to hit the road.
Rolling rock can exclusively announce that the country star – who recently announced his signing to Warner Records – will be hitting the road later this year on a massive tour. He also teased a new collaboration with Willie Nelson.
“I took a break from last year to focus on myself and although it was a difficult decision at the time, I'm so glad I did,” he says. Rolling rock. “I feel healthier and happier than I've ever felt in my life and I can't wait to get back on the road.”
Peck will kick off the tour on May 28 in North Carolina, before making stops in Atlanta, Columbus, Chicago, Toronto, St. Louis and Los Angeles. He will be bringing many other artists on the road with him, including The War and Treaty, Gold Star and Nikki Lane.
tickets will go on sale April 3rd at 10am. local time, before general admission tickets go on sale Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. local time.
Nelson is set to join Peck in a queer-encoded cover of Ned Sublette's piece, “Cowboys Often Secretly Love Each Other.” (Nelson previously covered this in 2006.)
“Being around Willie is so special,” says Peck. “You'd think he'd be impressed because he's a legend, but he just radiates joy.”
“It was his original idea to do the song together and I'll be forever grateful for his support,” she adds. “As an artist who sometimes felt shut out of the country music industry, once Willie Nelson wants to work with you, there's nothing the country world can say after that.”
The new song with the country legend follows Peck's release of “This Masquerade” earlier this year and his 15-track album Bronco last April, which included the singles “The Curse of the Black Eye” and “C'mon Baby, Cry.”
