Mexican singer Oscar Maydon claims his first No. 1 at bulletin boards Hot Latin Songs thanks to his Fuerza Regida collaboration, “Tu Boda,” which rises 8-1 on the Nov. 2-dated chart. As the song climbs seven places, it marks its biggest jump in the polymetric number in nearly two years.
“Tu Boda” lands at the Hot Latin Songs summit mainly on the strength of streaming data and sales. For the tracking week of October 18-24, the song generated 15.2 million official streams in the US according to Luminate, a 157% increase from the previous week. The development pushes the song to a No. 14 debut on the overall Streaming Songs chart, Maydon's first appearance there. Fuerza Regida is making their sixth visit, where the group previously peaked at No. 10 with “Tu Name,” featuring Grupo Frontera, in October 2023.
“Tu Boda” also registers enough streams in the US for a 6-1 jump on Latin Streaming Songs where Maydon gets his first visit and No. 1, while Regida secures his second champ.
The sales also help “Tu Boda's” swell on Hot Latin Songs, which combines airplay, streaming and downloads. The song sold 1,000 downloads in its tracking week, making it the No. 1 Latin Digital Song Sales debut.
As the song tops Hot Latin Songs, it dethrones Karol G's “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” from the top spot after 14 consecutive weeks at the top (a three-way tie with Xavi's “La Diabla” and “Gata Only” by FloyyMenor and Cris Mj', for longest running songs of 2024). “Si Antes” also adds a 15th week at No. 1 on overall Latin Airplay, tying Don Omar and Lucenzo's “Danza Kuduro” and Daddy Yankee's “Rompe” for 10th-most weeks at No. 1 since The tally began in 1994. There, Karol extended her record for most weeks on the summit by a female soloist, unaccompanied by any other act. (Among all women, Shakira holds the record, with 25 weeks at the top through “La Tortura,” featuring Alejandro Sanz.)
Back to “Tu Boda,” which was released Sept. 26 on Rancho Humilde/Sony Music Latin, the song's 8-1 jump marks its longest climb to No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs in a year and 10 months, following ” Bzrp” by Shakira : Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” with Bizarrap, rally 16-1 in second week (list dated January 28, 2023).
Globally, “Tu Boda” takes the Greatest Gainer trophy on both global charts: it rockets to No. 4 (up from No. 22) on the Billboard Global 200 with 75.1 million streams worldwide. The song shows similar success outside the US, where it earns 17-5 on Global Excl. US account with 60 million clicks. Thanks to streaming, both Maydon and Regida collect their first top 10 in both rankings.
Finally, “Tu Boda” propels both collaborators to their highest chart performance to date on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, where it opens at No. 23.
