So this is my personal list of the top 30 songs of 2023 based on Under the radarSongs of the Week. Funnily enough, my overall favorite song, “Achtung” by Modern Woman, is a song I haven't written about anywhere, but I love it. It is seductive, relaxing and stimulating. Otherwise, The Last Dinner Party is highly rated and it's been great to see them grow as a band. It was a pleasure to interview Under the radar.
My favorite album came from Blondshell, who I also interviewed Under the radar. As for television, it was a toss-up The last of us and Succession—one about humans foaming at the mouth trying to kill each other in a violent survival story, and the other about zombies.
Frasier is back, and unfortunately, it's been a rather sad affair with a script that completely lacks the rap like wit and sensibility of the original series. I certainly didn't watch as many movies as the illustrious Senior Editor Mark Redfern did last year. Actually, I was planning to watch Oppenheimer, Anatomy of a falland Saltburn but he didn't make it. I caught Killers of the Flower Moon, which was great, however I felt it could have been told in half the time. But who am I to question the cinematic vision of the great Scorsese!
