People tend to change when they get into a serious relationship. Sometimes it is an extension of their food or perhaps a change in their style of dress. But a telltale sign that you're deeply attached to your significant other is a whole new look. At least according to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
In a conversation with SiriusXM NFL Radio On Tuesday (August 13), the Super Bowl champion said he's been trying to grow out his shaggy near-bald haircut for years, but had to work with Taylor Swift to get the job done. “I was trying to get him to grow his hair and all of a sudden Taylor's making him do it,” Mahomes said during the training camp chat that also included KC coach Andy Reid and questions about whether the Chiefs may be the first NFL team to ever have a Super Bowl threepeat.
The proof is in the video. In a clip released by the Chiefs on Tuesday, Kelce, 34, can be seen rocking a shaggy puffy head of hair to go with a shadow-five mustache and beard.
As noted by Peoplein February, longtime Kelce barber Patrick Regan talked about how the dancers' signature buzz — which some called “Travis Kelce” — was hitting barbershops across the county. The look that Regan called a “skin fade” or “bald face” consisted of shaving the sides of Kelce's head and gradually fading into a three-blade shave.
At the time, Regan said that “Travis” had gotten a thumbs up from Swift, who had participated in some of his sessions with Kelce. “Taylor loves a haircut,” he said Fox News. “He has watched me cut his hair many times and always compliments him afterwards.”
Kelce is gearing up for KC's second preseason game against the Detroit Lions this weekend, while Swift will begin a five-night run at London's Wembley Stadium on Thursday (August 15) after being forced to cancel three concerts at the Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna last week due to the threat of a terrorist attack.
