There is nothing in the water this year. Pharrell has announced that his Something in the Water festival in Virginia Beach will no longer take place in October and has been pushed back to April 2025.
While presale tickets was still on sale on Friday (13 September) and the festival's line-up was set to be revealed – the latter never happened – Pharrell stepped in to write a letter to fans revealing that Something in the Water had been delayed once again until April of 2025 because “It's just not ready yet.”
“Dear Virginia, I love you with all my heart,” he began. “No one loves you more than me. Virginia doesn't deserve better, Virginia deserves the BEST. So SOMETHING IN THE WATER must match that. It's just not ready yet. That's why we as a group have decided that we have to postpone this year's SOMETHING IN THE WATER festival that was supposed to take place in October.”
P continued: “This is not a Pharrell festival, this is the Virginia state festival, so it has to be the best. Virginia made me and I want to honor that with all the love she showed me throughout my life. And you know me, everywhere I go is VA.”
Friends who already paid for tickets by debit/credit card will be refunded through their point of purchase. Those who waited in line to purchase tickets in person can receive a refund at the Veterans United Home Loan Amphitheater ticket office. Those who have purchased tickets will have first access when the new dates for next year are announced.
Pharrell added: “I'm so grateful to our amazing sponsors and the city for their continued support and trust in us to get this right, and this time is April 2025.”
Something in the Water was originally scheduled for April 2024 before being moved to October, which will now take place when we turn the calendar to 2025.
The April 2023 SITW festival was a three-day soiree in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and saw headline performances from Kid Cudi, Lil Wayne, The Clipse, Summer Walker, Grace Jones, Lil Uzi Vert, Kehlani and more.
