Pitchfork Music festival is pleased to announce our partnership with Chicago Votes, a dynamic nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young Chicagoans and promoting an inclusive democracy. Chicago Votes is leading the way in engaging and developing a new generation of leaders, making government and politics accessible to young people from all corners of the city.
At Chicago Votes, three core initiatives advance their mission: Unlock Civics, Give a Sh*t Chicago, and Reimagining Democracy. Through these initiatives, Chicago Votes focuses on leadership development, civic education, voter engagement and advocacy to create systemic change and make Chicago a better city for all.
Reimagining Democracy ensures that young people are politically educated and prepared to participate in elections through programs such as Parade to the PollsTM, Election Judge Recruitment and Get Out the Vote (GOTV) campaigns. Give a Sh*t Chicago advances cultural organizing efforts by empowering creatives to become civic leaders through various platforms and initiatives, including happy hours, podcasts and ongoing leadership development opportunities. Unlock Civics works at the intersection of democracy and the legal system, working to protect and restore voting rights for incarcerated people and providing civic education programs within correctional institutions.
Through our partnership with Chicago Votes, Pitchfork Music festival aims to amplify the voices of young people and promote civic engagement among festival attendees. Stay tuned for exciting opportunities to get involved and make a difference with Chicago Votes at Pitchfork Music festival 2024.
