PLUSH/ULTRAVIOLET – LIVE ON JAMESON COTTON
By Ralph Beauchamp
Plush has embarked on their first headlining tour. On 5/9/2024, they brought their dynamic music to Jameson's Pub in Watertown, Ct. with UV radiation for immediate support.
Scott Weaver and the Jameson Pub crew always seem to be able to put on some amazing national tours. The club becomes an annex to Ct. Music Stage. In the past, they have hosted the likes of George Lynch and Mike Tramp from the White Lion. The staff is friendly and Weaver is the perfect host.
Opener Ultraviolet hail mostly from New Jersey. We're slightly biased towards the band as their bass player is Shannon Wilk who happens to be on the AMP creative staff as a writer and photographer. Shannon is one of the most amazing and hard working musicians we know. In addition to her journalistic assignments, she is involved in a multitude of musical endeavors. It's pretty much a human dynamo.

The remainder of Ultraviolet consists of Ashley Silva (Guitar), Cooper Hughes (Drums) and the newly minted Miranda Taylor (Vocals). The band plays both original and catchy cover songs. Tonight, Ultraviolet powered through a six-song set. Original songs “Rust” and “Slap In The Face” were included. On the cover, Audioslave's “Show Me How To Live” and Gary Glitter's “Do You Want To Touch Me” (Joan Jett version) were fan favorites.
Ultraviolet's sound is a cool mix of old school rock and roll and new age. Taylor's vocals are powerful and carry a beastly tone. Silva's guitar playing is impressive for such a young musician. Hughes' drums pound with ambitious dexterity. Wilk's bass always has an aggressive justice. The band's stage behavior was lively and full of life. This is a band to watch.
Plush it is clearly amazing. Their musicianship is impeccable. PlushHis songs rock with divine addiction and command the stage like seasoned pros. Their music has an oversized edge and delivers an avalanche of adrenalized propulsion.
The band consists of Moriah Formica (vocals/guitar), Bella Perron (guitar), Ashley Suppa (bass) and Faith Powell (drums). PlushHis self-titled debut album (2021) included the Billboard Top 40 charting singles “Hate” and “Better Off Alone”. Plush has electrified audiences during recent live shows across the United States supporting Kiss, Alice In Chains, Evanescence, Daughtry, Slash with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, among others, as well as the main stages of the Welcome to Rockville festival, Louder Than Life, Rocklahoma, and more.
Their new release, Find the Beautiful (2023), is an EP featuring six songs, five originals and one classic cover that rock fans know and love. Plush pays tribute to Heart by releasing “Barracuda” as an instant grat track.

this night, Plush they opened with “Athena” from their debut album. Immediately the crowd lovingly devoured the barrage of galvanic power Plush let loose “Champion” and Find the Beautiful “Run” followed and the audience was mesmerized. Formica's vocals were terrific with spicy accents. Peron's guitar flared with ferocity. Soupa's bass pounded with determined fury while Powell's percussion was explosive.
Disable “Kill The Noise”. Find the Beautiful it was expected. “Sober” and “Walk Away” were hits. All the while Formica was painting in the room. She mentioned that this was their first headlining tour and she was so happy to see everyone there. In fact, it was sold out. Plush It certainly appeals to them. Their music is relentlessly sweeping.
Of the remaining eight songs in their set, Heart's Barracuda drew the loudest cheer. Plush it totally ruins this song. Their performance is kick ass. Other big hits included 'Tidal Wave', 'Hope It Hurts' and the dramatic last song 'Left Behind' which emits a fierce groove. Plush accompanied by their “Hate” monster. Everyone in the house felt it Plushits sonic blasts of pure charm.
Plush is still on tour. They play in many intimate venues and clubs. Don't miss them because they will soon be arena pioneers. Plush is this incendiary.
