A decade after the release of Porter Robinson Worldshe is traveling them.
She has announced her first world tour, “SMILE! :D”, ahead of her new album of the same name, scheduled for release on July 26 via Mom+Pop.
Robinson will be traveling to all five continents for the tour and there seem to be plenty of highlights, but his undeniable peak will come in February 2025 when he heads to Asia. Long in love with Japanese culture, the dance music superstar will perform in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka.
Fans can expect plenty of whimsical cherry blossoms and Kawaii-inspired visuals, but before that, she'll kick off the tour in North America at the end of August, when she'll visit several major cities in Canada and the United States. It will then cross the Pacific for a race in Australia (dates for which have yet to be announced) before venturing into Asia, Europe and South America respectively.
The tour will feature support from Japanese indie-rock band Galileo Galilei, as well as hyperpop stars Ericdoa and Underscores. Pre-sale passes It will be available starting Tuesday, April 30 at 10 a.m. local time and tickets will be released to the general public on Friday, May 3.
Robinson recently released two singles from SMILE! 😀, “Cheerleader” and “KNOK YOURSELF XD”. When talking about her recording process this week, she painted a picture of his most vulnerable work yet.
“The album I was TRYING to write was this non-stop party: NO sincerity, ALL fun, an album that revels in the absurdity of a world that rejects context,” Robinson wrote in posts on his social media. “And that was the plan until I accidentally started confessing how I really felt, and… you'll hear the rest.”
“My funniest and perhaps most heartbreaking album,” he added.
