Malone's “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen, reigns as the No. 1 title on Bulletin board's Songs of the Summer chart for 2024. The song claims the title after leading the weekly chart for all 14 weeks this season.
The current 20-spot Songs of the Summer tally tracks the most popular titles based on cumulative performance on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 chart based on streaming, airplay and sales from Memorial Day to Labor Day (this year includes charts from June 8 to September 7).
Notably, a country song tops the season-ending Songs of the Summer chart for the second year in a row, as Wallen's “Last Night” finished first for 2023. Prior to the last two years, the genre had not won the crown from John Denver's “Annie's Song” led in 1974 (as it was qualified by titles to reach the top 10 Bulletin boardHot Country Songs Map).
Meanwhile, as Wallen boasts a seasonal No. 1 on Songs of the Summer in recent years, he is just the second artist to tie such a streak, and the first in 46 years: Andy Gibb reigned with “I Just Want To Be Your Everything' in 1977 and 'Shadow Dancing' in 1978.
The only other artists with two summer hits each in total: Drake, with “One Dance,” featuring WizKid and Kyla, in 2016, and “In My Feelings” in 2018. Katy Perry, with “I Kissed a Girl” in 2008 and “California Gurls” with Snoop Dogg in 2010. Jay-Z, as featured on Beyoncé's “Crazy in Love” in 2003 and Rihanna's “Umbrella” in 2007. Mariah Carey, with “Vision of Love” in 1990 and “We Belong Together” in 2005. and Usher, with “U Remind Me” in 2001 and “Confessions Part II” in 2004.
Shaboozey's “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” sits at No. 2 on the season-ending Songs of the Summer chart as the country headliners take the top two spots for the second year in a row and overall. In 2023, Luke Combs' “Fast Car” finished second.
