New LP Turn on the stereo Released on April 26, via Enabler No. 6 Records

Later this week, San Diego-based singer/songwriter Eric Schroeder is set to share his new LP, Turn on the stereo, out April 26 via Enabler No. 6 Records. Although Schroeder is only 21 years old, he has quickly built a prolific string of releases, releasing four full-length albums starting with his 2020 debut. Paper roll with country tasteand will continue until 2022 The things you don't see when you live with your eyes closed.
His latest effort sees Schroeder drawing inspiration from the songwriting craft behind pop, rock and Americana classics, along with production courtesy of Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Kurt Vile). He's already shared the album's first singles, “Stayed the Same” and “Never Go Away,” and today he's back with a final track from the album, “The Kind of Wound That Never Heals,” premiering with Under the Radar .
Where the record's previous singles draped Shredder in layers of breezy harmony or stripped things down for a stripped-down garage rock sound, his latest track instead spirals outward into a dizzying sprawl. Schroeder's vocals simmer and growl over the lyrics, carried by restrained keys and a dreamy chord progression. Meanwhile, the track takes off on the chorus, mirroring the melodies in Shredder's insane design with a psychedelic guitar line.
Schroeder says of the track, “This track is a track that needed some tweaking, it almost didn't make the album. It's personal, just with a little attitude. More of a nonchalant expression of how stressed I feel inside, and the laziness of the melody makes it even more annoying.”
