“If there were a general theme for Come on in “It can be a conflict, whether internal or external,” Gillespie said in a statement. “There’s also a thread of compassion that runs through the album. The title is a Glasgow term. If someone threatens to fight you, you say, ‘Get on with it! ’ It evokes the indomitable spirit of Glaswegians, and the album itself shares that aggressive attitude and confidence.”
Come on in It will be available in limited editions on colored vinyl and CD. Pre-orders are in progress.
Driven by a funky guitar riff, “Love Insurrection” is a commentary on how society has lost its way as the planet burns. “Sisters and brothers estranged from each other,” Gillespie sings. “Divided and ruled, taken for fools / Love and democracy versus plutocracy / This could be heaven, it’s hell we’re headed to.”
This autumn, Primal Scream will support Alice Cooper on a series of shows in the UK, followed by a gig at Corona Capital in Mexico City. Watch the schedule below and Get tickets here.
