Ten weeks after Prince Royce and Gambito Ballesteros monopolized Advertising signTropical Airplay chart with “Cosas De La Peda,” the song tops the overall Latin Airplay chart (dated April 27), up from No. 3 a week ago. The hit is the seventh single from Royce's album, Llamada Perdidathe 23-track set that placed the bachata singer back in the top five of Tropical Albums after a four-year hiatus (No. 2 debut in March).
“Cosas De La Peda,” (which loosely translates to “drunken themes”), reaches No. 1 on the overall Latin Airplay chart thanks to a 27% increase in audience views, to 10.9 million, tuned in to USA in the week ended. April 18, according to Luminate. With nearly 2 million additional impressions, the song earns Latin Radio's weekly Greatest Gainer award for the biggest audience increase among its 50 titles.
Additionally, thanks to its radio explosion, “Cosas De La Peda” debuts at No. 46 on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs, which ranks the most popular Latin songs of the week by combining streaming, airplay and sales activity.
Royce and Ballesteros' first team-up gives the regional Mexican soloist his maiden No. 1 on Latin Airplay. The new feat comes 10 weeks after he took his first championship at any Advertising sign radio rankings, as “Cosas De La Peda” topped the Tropical Airplay chart dated February 24, where it has held strong ever since.
“Cosas” is a cause for celebration for Ballesteros, who joins a select group of local Mexican artists who also scored their No. 1 debut on Latin Airplay in 2024 among the reigning seven this year, including a regional Mexican act (either via a regional Mexican song or a non-genre collaboration). These new highfliers include Xavi, whose “La Diabla” was No. 1 for two weeks (starting the chart dated February 10), and siblings Leonardo and Angela Aguilar via their Becky G collaboration, “Por El Contrario,” for one week at the top (March 9).
Prince Royce moves ahead with 17 No. 1s on Latin Airplay and moves out of a tie with Carlos Vives for second-most among tropical artists in the survey's nearly 30-year history, where Romeo Santos continues to lead with 21 No. 1 hits . Here are the top charts:
