Priscilla Presley has penned a heartfelt memorial for her late daughter, Lisa Marie.
The widow of Elvis Presley has shared a moving tribute to Lisa Marie on would have been her daughter’s 56th birthday.
Alongside a black and white photo of the two of them, taken during Lisa Marie’s teenage years, Priscilla, 78, used a sweet pet name for her only daughter.
“I miss you “Yisa”” Priscilla wrote.
“You would have been 56 today. Still young at heart and yet an old soul. Mom.”
Lisa Marie died in January 2023 after a bowel obstruction caused her to go into cardiac arrest.
The singer-songwriter had undergone ‘stomach stapling’ surgery for weight loss some years earlier, which had led to scar tissue and adhesions around her abdomen, creating the small-bowel obstruction.
Meanwhile, Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley Keough has been working on her mother’s memoir, which was incomplete when Lisa Marie died. The book will be published by Random House in 2024.
“Few people had the opportunity to know who my mom really was, other than being Elvis´s daughter,” Riley said in a statement.
“I was lucky to have had that opportunity and working on preparing her autobiography for publication has been a privilege, albeit a bittersweet one.
“I’m so excited to share my mom now, at her most vulnerable and most honest, and in doing so, I do hope that readers come to love my mom as much as I did
