If you visit the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas this fall, there's a good chance you'll get a guided tour from a real-life punk legend and at least one classic rocker. Members of Operation Ivy, the Circle Jerks, the Ramones, and even the not-so-punk, but equally cool, ZZ Top will be on hand to show you around and share stories.
The Punk Rock Museum opened last year and has already had a steady stream of notable musicians offering guided tours to visitors. This fall, the lineup is packed, with the Ramones’ CJ Ramone (Sept. 20-22), the Circle Jerks’ Keith Morris (Sept. 27-29), the Dead Boys’ Cheetah Chrome (Oct. 4-6), Sum 41’s Dave “Brownsound” Baksh (Oct. 5-6), Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman (Oct. 19-20), and, yes, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons (Nov. 2) among the many tour guides booked for September and November.
Jesse Michaels of Operation Ivy, who will serve as tour guide from October 11-14, posted the following message on Instagram:
“Hey guys, I’m going to be a tour guide at the PR Museum in Las Vegas (@thepunkrockmuseum). I’ll be telling personal stories, sharing some history, stretching the truth a bit, and settling some scores once and for all (joke on that last part). My intention is to offer more than what’s asked and make everyone feel connected to my little corner of punk history in an intimate and memorable way. I’m beyond honored that @fatmikedude and PRM asked me to do this and also that people are interested in my rant. I really appreciate you all!”
The Punk Rock Museum was founded by NOFX frontman Fat Mike and is located at 1422 Western Ave. A full list of guest tour guides can be seen in the three Instagram posts below, along with tickets for guided tours. Available here.
