Queens of the Stone Age announced on Tuesday morning (July 9) that the band has been forced to cancel a series of planned European dates this month due to a medical issue affecting singer Josh Homme. “QOTSA is saddened to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery,” the group wrote on Instagram.
At press time, a spokesperson for the team had not returned a call Advertising signHis request for additional information about the procedure Homme will undergo or a timeline for his recovery. “Every effort has been made to move forward and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue,” the statement continued.

The post encouraged festival ticket holders to visit event websites for up-to-date information, with ticket holders for headlining shows advised to expect contact directly from the point of purchase. At the time of publication the band's official page lists another string of European festivals in August as the next appearances on the band's tour schedule, starting with an August 8th appearance in Gothenburg, Sweden at the Way Out West festival. After six more Euro festival dates, Queens are set to bring their End Is Nero tour – which kicked off in Sterling Heights, MI in August 2023 – to US shores again in September, kicking off with a show at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston. on the 27th.
