Queens of the Stone Age have canceled their European tour to allow Josh Homme to fly home for emergency surgery. The band did not disclose the nature of the operation, but Homme revealed in 2023 that he had undergone successful cancer treatment. In a statement, the band said this morning (July 9), “QOTSA is saddened to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery. Every effort has been made to move forward and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue.”
Queens of the Stone Age release their latest album, In Times New Roman…, last July. Their scheduled North American dates this fall were not among the original list of cancellations. Pitchfork has emailed the band's representatives for more information.
