It's tight, and it's early, but Smile members can afford a smile. Radiohead spin-off tops UK midweek chart Wall of Eyes (XL Recordings), their second album.

Radiohead know more than most about the lofty chart life. The alternative rock legends lead the Official UK Albums Chart with six titles: OK Computer (since 1997), Child A (2000), Amnesiac (2001), Hail to the Thief (2003), At Rainbows (2008) and A pool in the shape of the Moon (2016).

Eye wall and Ballad of a passer-by leads a brand new top seven in the charts as James Arthur aims for a fifth UK top 10 appearance with Bitter sweet love (Colombia), on track for a No. 3 debut.
Rounding out the top five in the chart explosion is Tom Odell Black Friday (No. 4 via Urok) and Future Islands People who are no longer there (No. 5 via 4AD), while new entries from Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes (Dark Rainbow at No. 6 via International Death Cult), New Model Army (Unbreakable at No.7 via Ear Music) and Gruff Rhys (Grief sets me free at No. 9 via Rough Trade) are headed for top 10 debuts.
