April 16, 2024
Web Exclusive
We're big fans of the hot-nosed Nottingham-based three-piece Rainy season here at Under the Radar, so we're delighted to announce that they've released a new single today (Tuesday 16th April). Entitled “WPD”, it's one of the band's all-time favorite sets and is the band's first official release since forming in 2022. An untitled EP will follow in September. “WPD” – short for “Western Power Distribution” – is a brutal assault on the senses at just over two and a half minutes that calls to mind Protomartyr, The Fall and The Walkmen at their most visceral.
Watch the video below.
The trio – Kieran Poole (guitar, vocals), Jim Allen (bass) and Joe Maguire (drums) – will also play the following dates this month in support of 'WPD', calling on…
17 Sheffield v Sydney & Matilda
27 Lincoln – The Komodo
28 Nottingham – Bodega (with Melts & Bored Marsh)
More dates will be added throughout the year.
“WPD” is now available on all good streaming services (see below)
