The OG God of the Hip-Hop game is back as Rakim has announced that he will be releasing his first album in over a decade and it will feature many of the OG MCs alive and back.
On Thursday, June 20, it was announced that the microphone fiend known as Rakim Allah was set to release his eighth studio album on GOD'S Network (Reb7rth), via Holy Toledo Productions/Compound Interest Entertainment/RRC Music and 1332 Records. coming July 26th. And to show what you can expect from the project, a video for the first single, “BE ILL,” has been released. Featuring Da Dogg Pound's Kurupt and Wu-Tang Clan's Masta Killa, the song is a throwback to how rappers used to spit face-smashing, thought-provoking bars during Hip-Hop's golden age.
The album will feature many of your favorite rappers from the past and judging by the names revealed in the press release, it will be quite the lyricist's lounge when GOD'S NETWORK hits the streets as said list includes Nipsey Hussle, DMX, BG, Method Man, Prodigy, Skyzoo, Kool G Rap and more.
