I'm Rapsody and that's how it went with my new single '3 AM'.

Getting to the final lyrical version of “3 AM” was a process. The first verse was actually lyrics I took from another song I had. Regardless, when I talked about love, I wanted to pull from a real authentic place: “You made me feel like a virgin, young man, you made me pull back the curtains. I'm not afraid to share what you hurt me.” You know, I was really thinking about a relationship I was in and the feelings I was feeling. It was just really raw and real. And it just kind of spilled out. I took those lyrics and spit them over the beat version of “3 AM” and it felt really good. The last verse, which is actually performed as a spoken word piece, I wanted to talk about the whole journey of falling in love and then falling in love, what it's like – where you can appreciate the experience, appreciate how you feel at the same time, sometimes you have to putting yourself first and that requires letting go. And that was exactly the approach. You know, the last verse is super emotional, but, you know, like my second adolescence. Like, come on.
