Raye has broken the record for the most BRIT Awards nominations in a single year.
On Wednesday, BRIT officials announced that the 26-year-old had made history by becoming the most-nominated artist in a single year.
The Escapism hitmaker has been nominated for seven awards, including British Artist of the Year, Best New Artist, British Song of the Year and Best Pop Act.
The record was previously jointly held by Gorillaz, Craig David and Robbie Williams, who were each nominated for six awards in a single year.
In an interview with the host of the nominations broadcast, Raye, real name Rachel Keen, shared that she was “completely floored” by the nominations, adding that she is “currently a mess of overwhelming emotions and confusion”.
The all-female indie rock band, The Last Dinner Party, were announced as the recipient of the Rising Star award last month.
It was also announced that Dua Lipa, who has been nominated for several BRIT Awards this year, including British Artist of the Year, will perform at the awards ceremony.
The 2024 BRIT Awards will be broadcast live on ITV from London’s O2 Arena on 2 March.
