Real Estate leader Martin Courtney loved Nickelodeon. The Adventures of Pete and Pete as a child, but he was understandably skeptical about how he would hold up when the time came to show it to his own children. Fortunately, Courtney discovered that it was everything she remembered and more. Listen to the singer chat about rediscovering himself in this episode of The Spark Parade above, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Courtney delves into how, as an adult, he discovered that the show's strange, sweet, and fun nature helped him transcend the pitfalls that similar shows from that era fell into. “He impressed me a lot,” he admits. “He really looks at the world through kids' eyes, instead of filming kids being weird, it's through his perspective.”
He ended up so enthralled by his reconnection with the program that Real Estate created a Pete and Pete-Thematic video for their new song “Water Underground”.
