Reba McEntire reminds fans that just because they read something online doesn't mean it's true. Specifically, the icon of the country and The voice The coach hit back over the weekend at what she said were false reports about her allegedly dissing Taylor Swift after she was reportedly upset about the singer's behavior at February's Super Bowl.
“Please don't believe everything you see on the internet,” McEntire wrote on Instagram alongside a screenshot of the fake story that claimed McEntire called Swift an “entitled toddler” after Taylor was pictured sipping a drink while McEntire sang The National Anthem.
“I didn't say that. Taylor is a wonderful artist, powerful role model and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry,” McEntire, 68, continued. McEntire sang the “Star-Spangled Banner” at this year's game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, with Swift on hand to cheer on her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
McEntire has proven in the past that she's definitely on Team Swift, including one NBC interview in December during promotion The voice, saying, “The first time I heard Taylor sing live was at the CMA Awards. He was singing 'Tim McGraw', playing guitar. Tim and Faith were in the front row. She came down the stairs looking right at Tim McGraw singing and I'm like, 'This girl is going to be a huge star'… I mean I was impressed!”
Swift recently wrapped up a run of shows in Singapore and is on hiatus until the stadium tour resumes in Nanterre, France with a run of four shows at Paris La Défense Arena from May 9-12.
