I am quite intense this time,” Rema said recently Rolling rock. “One thing you're going to hear in the future is just rawness and realness – how raw Afrobeats was before the whole globalization thing, but in a new way. With everything going viral and everything spreading around the world, I feel like it's affected the sound as well. We don't just make what people would enjoy at home. We also make what we hope people will enjoy too. I got rid of that mindset going into the studio, like, “I'm going to start with what I love.” The rest of the world can catch up.”
