It's hard to imagine Rezz's 2016 smash hit, “Edge,” any darker. But if there's anyone reinventing the hypnotic track through an even more disturbing lens, it's Rezz herself, who has released a new version of her breakout song.
Eight years ago, “Edge” helped put Rezz and his fascinating production style on the map. He has now reached new heights thanks to a massive rework, which is now available on his former home, mau5trap.
Evoking his signature sinister soundscapes while channeling the stomping, industrial undertow of the original track, “Edge (2024 Version)” propels the Rezz classic into the future. He initially debuted to popular acclaim at his Phoenix show on April 20 and has been performing it on tour ever since.
“The OG 'edge' is one of the tracks that is so special to me,” Rezz wrote on instagram. “What it did for my early career and my exposure meant a lot and was a big surprise. I decided to do a new version and I'm very excited about it.”
In other Rezz news, he recently announced plans to host his own festival-style event, “Hypno Circus.”
“Whether it will end up being a full festival, who knows, but one thing is for sure. I will definitely have an event and it will be called Hypno Circus,” Rezz said. EDM.com in a recent exclusive interview. “Maybe it won't end up being a crazy festival on the scale of Lost Lands, but maybe it'll be two nights in a really amazing place where people can fly to the event and have two days. My stage will have a very circus brand.”
