Rihanna headed home over the weekend to attend the Crop Over festival in Barbados and, as usual, she came dressed to impress. The singer took a knee at the parade on Monday in a towering outfit featuring brown and gold jewels that reached from her ankles to her shoulders, with thin strips of material covering the bare essentials, accented by a matching crown.
The traditional carnival outfit also featured a pair of giant multi-colored wings sprouting from her back in a cascade of orange, pink and yellow.
RihRih has attended the event also known as the Grand Kadooment Parade in the past, including in 2017 when she joined the crowds on the street wearing one of the traditionally elaborate, vibrant feather and beaded outfits. That year, the designer who worked on part of the star's outfit that year, Destiney Bleu, described waking up to an email from an assistant to Rihanna's stylist saying she wanted tights for her Crop Over outfit.
Bleu quickly designed a pair of eye-catching tights, one nude, the other in black, adding another spot to her belt of client list, which already included Beyoncé, Shania Twain and Lady Gaga. “We almost managed to impress everyone, the only one left was Rihanna,” Bleu said at the time.
In 2015, Advertising sign said Rihanna's annual appearance at the 300-year-old seasonal music festival had sparked international interest in the event, as well as helping to raise the profile of other artists from the singer's home country. Rihanna also attended the event in 2019, where she sported an equally stunning winged outfit.
