Rock's most playful couple, Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox, are back with a new edition of their “Sunday Lunch” performance series. This time, the King Crimson guitarist and the new wave singer offer a good version of the Iggy & The Stooges classic “Search and Destroy.”
Sporting matching mohawks, the married couple pays tribute to the godfather of punk, Iggy Pop, with a playful interpretation of the Brute force melody. Robert plays the song's iconic guitar licks while Toyah sings and dances seductively around her husband. It all culminates with Toyah slowly licking the side of Robert's face.
The ever-young Robert and Toyah just celebrated their 78th and 66th birthdays on May 16 and 18, respectively. They have entertained their fans with their “Sunday Lunch” series for four years.
'Search and Destroy' follows performances of Blink-182's 'Dammit', Beastie Boys' '(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party)', KISS' 'Lick It Up', Joan Jett's 'Bad Reputation' and J. “Centerfold” by Geils Band, among other songs.
Robert and Toyah are playing a number of shows in the UK throughout the summer and again in December, with tickets available here.
