The Who's Roger Daltrey will end almost a quarter of a century of concerts to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust in March with a week all-star performances in aid of the UK charity dedicated to helping young people in need of post-diagnosis nursing care and support.
The organization has announced the line-up for the shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London, with the Who set to take to the stage on March 18 and 20 with an orchestra, supported by Squeeze and Noel Gallagher headlining on March 21 with support from the Blossoms. March 19 will also feature a yet-to-be-announced lineup of stand-up comedians, a March 22 concert by Young Fathers and a March 23 lineup with the Chemical Brothers and DJ Paul Holroyd.
The final show – dubbed “Ovation” – on March 24 will be a blast celebrating 24 years of TCT concerts with Daltrey, Kelly Jones of Stereophonics, Robert Plant with Saving Grace, Pete Townshend, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder and Paul Weller. .
Daltrey has hosted and moderated the fundraising shows since 2000, raising more than $40 million to date, which the organization said has paid for more than one million hours of skilled care by TCT nurses or 13 TCT hospice care units. “The £32m raised from these concerts has been the foundation for 28 specialist NHS units, as well as specialist nurses and youth workers to be there for a young person when cancer has turned their world upside down.” Daltrey said in a statement.
tickets for the show go on sale at 9am. GMT on January 12.
From 2025, the concert series will continue with a series of guest curators. Last year's show featured Daltrey alongside Verve's Richard Ashcroft, Joan Armatrading, Underworld, Kasabian and comedian Alan Carr, among many others.
