BLACKPINK's ROSÉ is about to take on the fiery challenge Hot.
First we celebratethe channel behind the show, announced her Nov. 5 appearance, teasing: “This week on Hot Ones, we got Rosé vs. The Wings of Death. 💀 Tune in Thursday @ 11am ET.”
He also announced the news via Instagram: “Hi everyone. This is it Rose. Oh, I'll continue Hot this week. Tune in to see me kill it. Or maybe not. We'll see.”
To her Hot teaser episode clips released on November 6, ROSÉ didn't hold back love for spices — though he wondered how far he could go with “Wings of Death.” “I like spicy food,” he said, adding, “But I don't know if I like it spicy spicy.”
As the heat began to set in, he joked, “By the way, my tongue is built differently. It's built differently.” Built differently.”
Asked about the inspiration behind her new single “APT”. with Bruno Mars, ROSÉ explained that it was rooted in a playful cultural moment. “APT” is an homage to a traditional Korean drinking game called “aparteu” (or “apartment” in English), and is also the first single from her anticipated debut album, Rosiewill be released on December 6th.
“It's a Korean APT drinking game, one, two, three, four, five, six,” he said. “Whoever takes the top gets the shot.”
Moving on to her craft, she also discussed her vocal technique, explaining the difference between chest and head voice. “I set the key too high,” he laughed, adding, “That's the difference, I guess, right?”
ROSÉ's latest hit is taking the music world by storm, breaking records left and right. The catchy tune is dominating the charts worldwide. In a huge debut, “APT”. peaked at number one on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts and held its crown for two consecutive weeks.
Down Under, Aussie ROSÉ fans have shown their love in spades. “SUITABLE.” peaked at No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart, making her the first solo female K-pop artist to top the Australian charts. Not only that, but it's kept the top spot warm for multiple weeks – a feat not seen since PSY's 'Gangnam Style' in 2012.
In a recent PAPER magazine interview, she discussed how online criticism inspired one of the album's most personal tracks, stating, “I realized how vulnerable and addicted I was to it [online] people and this longing to feel that I wanted to be loved and understood.”
Born in Auckland and raised in Melbourne, ROSÉ moved to South Korea at 15 to pursue music and eventually joined BLACKPINK. The group's debut studio album The album peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the highest ever for a K-pop girl group. Born Pink dropped and made history as the first album by a Korean actress to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
ROSÉ has also enjoyed previous success as a solo artist. His 2021 single 'On the Ground' was the first song by a Korean solo artist to top both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. American charts. It has also ranked at No. 79 on Billboard's Artist 100 chart.
