Sabrina Carpenter reveals her childhood: 'All the posters on my wall were women'

Sabrina Carpenter loves this espresso pop. In a recent video interview with W Magazinethe 25-year-old singer opened up about who she had crushes on as a child — and most of them are now her age.

“Who did I date?” Carpenter says in an excerpt from the interview posted on TikTok on Thursday (September 5). “It's funny, all the posters on my wall were women. All my girls were Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande.”

“I was, at the time, I had Tiger Beatand I was really using the posters,” she continues, referring to the teen pop culture magazine. “I would put them all over my wall.”

Flash forward a decade and some changes, and Carpenter opened for both Grande and Swift on their respective tours: the Dangerous Woman tour in 2017 and the Eras tour in 2024. The “Please Please Please” singer also got her start Cyrus did through Hannah Montanafinding fame on a Disney Channel show — Girl meets world — and parlaying it into a pop music career.

Carpenter also recently accomplished a feat previously accomplished by all three childhood girls: a No. 1 album. The singer's new LP “Espresso,” Short and sweet, debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart dated September 7, narrowly surpassing Travis Scott's Days before the Rodeo.

As well as Cyrus, Swift and Grande, Carpenter – who is now dating actor Barry Keoghan – also said she once had a thing for Zac Efron. “I had a very dangerous Zac Efron phase when he was in it Hair spray“, he told the publication. “I was 12 years old and I was at a beach for the 4th of July. He would never remember this, but I saw him and said, “I'm a big fan of your work!” He gave me a hug. And I remember thinking, oh my God, he wasn't wearing a shirt and he hugged me! I was like, This is amazing. I never wash my body!”
