Sabrina Carpenter brought a special guest to perform a Nancy Sinatra classic at Outside Lands 2024.
During her headlining set at the San Francisco festival on Saturday (August 10), the 25-year-old pop star welcomed Kacey Musgraves for a surprising performance of Sinatra's 1966 hit “These Boots Are Made for Walkin.”
“It's not going to come out unless you're really loud,” Carpenter told festival-goers. “We're so good, my God!” he added after Musgraves arrived. “Shall we sing our song?”
From there, the two stars traded verses while Carpenter kept the beat on the tambourine. Musgraves wore a silver dress, while Carpenter wore a dark, sparkly mini skirt with matching high-heeled boots.
“These Boots Are Made for Walkin'” was written by Lee Hazlewood and Sinatra's recording was released in December 1965. By February 1966, it had reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
Before her set, Carpenter took a sip from a cup of espresso to celebrate her smash hit “Espresso” surpassing 1 billion streams on Spotify. The track reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in April and reached the top spot Bulletin boardLast Month's Pop Airplay Chart.
This year's Outside Lands also featured headlining sets from the Killers and Sturgill Simpson and will feature a special set from Post Malone on Sunday night. Carpenter replaced the previous Saturday night's headliner, Tyler, the Creator, who gave up at the end of June citing personal reasons.
