The American singer and actor is dazzling on both sides of the Atlantic right now. walked the red carpet at the 2024 Met Gala and is the current leader of the Official UK Singles Chart.
Based on midweek sales and streaming data released by the Official Charts Company, 'Espresso' leads the way and is on track for a second consecutive week at No. 1.
The closest challenger at this point is Hozier's former leader 'Too Sweet' (Island) at 3-2. As it stands, the Island would go 1-2.
Meanwhile, Shaboozey's country-hip-hop number “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” (American Dogwood/Empire) is on the rise. After becoming the US artist's first entry into the UK top 10 last week, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is expected to reach No.5.
The highest rise has to go to Kendrick Lamar with “Euphoria” (Interscope), the controversial Kdot diss track that takes a swipe at Drake. “Euphoria” gains 41-9 on the charts and could become the hip-hop star's eighth UK top 10 hit.
Also on the way north in the UK chart is Tommy Richman's viral hit “Million Dollar Baby” (ISO Supremacy/Pulse) which last week cracked the top 40 (at No. 31) for the US artist's first appearance on United Kingdom “Million Dollar Baby” is set to reach No. 14 when the official UK Singles Chart is released late on Friday, May 10. The Virginia singer-rapper is building buzz on TikTok with “Million Dollar Baby,” particularly on US where the single reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for his first major crossover hit.
Finally, David Guetta and OneRepublic's “I Don't Wanna Wait” (Interscope/Parlophone) is on the rise, set for a new peak at No. 16. The track samples from O-Zone's 2000 pop hit “Dragostea Din Tei.” It is Guetta's 48th UK top 40 appearance and OneRepublic's 10th.
