That's exactly what Salute has achieved with their debut album, TRUE MAGIC. The 14-track album takes fans on a visceral and vibrant journey from start to finish, with its first song packed with as much energy and passion as the last.
Although the prolific producer approached the album with the goal of making as much music as possible and narrowing down the best collection of songs, TRUE MAGIC It’s remarkably cohesive. His production blends a wide spectrum of sounds, from house and UKG to breakbeat and pop, and is infused with nostalgia and a charming simplicity.
Collaborations serve as the foundation of the album, as evidenced by “reason.” Combining salute’s signature upbeat sound with Karma Kid’s contemporary production, this uplifting track brings out the best in salute, but also allows them to explore new creative directions.
Later on the album, the Vienna-born beatmaker shows off his versatility as he transitions into a softer, more emotive sound. On “Perfect,” they teamed up with LEILAH to capture the ethereal feeling of falling deeply in love.
TRUE MAGIC It’s only Salute’s first full-length album, but it has the feel of a tour de force. Demonstrating a polished maturity in both songwriting and arrangement, each of its songs flows seamlessly to paint an aching narrative and point to a promising future for a musician whose career is just beginning.
