Sam Fender has announced that he will embark on a series of massive UK stadium shows next summer.
After selling out his UK and Ireland tour scheduled for December, the 30-year-old will appear next year at the London Stadium (June 6) and St. James Park, Newcastle (June 12 and 14). The former will mark Fender's first stadium show outside of his hometown and the biggest headline show of his career to date with a capacity of 75,000.
The new dates will also mark the North Shields musician's third and fourth appearances at St James' Park, meanwhile, having sold-out two nights there in 2022. Fender first teased the dates yesterday ( November 20), sharing a clip on his Instagram account of a saxophonist playing in the St James Park media area.
Support for all three shows will come from Mercury-nominated singer CMAT, while Philly rockers The War On Drugs – who produced Fender's new single 'People Watching' – will appear in London on the night's second leg Newcastle.
Details of a special fan pre-sale will be shared with those signed up to Fender's newsletter, with remaining tickets going live at 9.30am. (GMT) on November 29. More ticketing information can be found through Fender's official website.
Last week (November 15th), Fender confirmed news of his third LP People watching (due February 21 via Polydor Records) alongside sharing her single of the same name. The track is set to debut in the UK Top 10 Official Singles Chart later today (November 22).
Following his upcoming arena trip, Fender will next head to New York's Webster Hall for a show on February 11, before continuing the second leg of his European tour through March 2025. Next month, he will return to North America for a further seven dates. He has also been confirmed to appear at Germany's Rock Werchter in early July, fueling rumors that he may return to Glastonbury festival in Somerset, south-west England, the week before (June 25-29).
Fender released their second album, Seventeen Going Underin 2021, which saw him top the UK Official Albums Chart and release a live album with his massive gig at London's Finsbury Park. Earlier this year, he collaborated with Noah Kahan on the joint single “Homesick.”
