Sarah Michelle Gellar has joined Showtime Right handed prequel series, The original sin.
Gellar will guest star as Miami Metropolitan Police Department CSI Chief Tanya Martin, who supervises young Dexter Morgan (Patrick Gibson) as he begins an internship.
Set 15 years before the original series in 1991 Miami, Dexter: the original sin Follow Dexter as he becomes a “serial killer in training” under the guidance of his adoptive father, homicide detective Harry Morgan (Christian Slater).
“Dexter: Original Sin follows Dexter as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer,” reads the official logline. “When his bloodthirsty urges can no longer be ignored, Dexter must learn to channel the darkness within him. With the guidance of his father, Harry, he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on the radar of law enforcement. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensic internship at the Miami Metropolitan Police Department.”
Original Right handed Showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips returns in that role for the prequel series, with Michael Lehmann (heather) serving as director and executive producer.
Other cast members include Molly Brown as Dexter's sister Debra Morgan, James Martinez as Angel Batista, Christina Milian as Maria LaGuerta, Alex Shimizu as Vince Masuka, Patrick Dempsey as Aaron Spencer and Reno Wilson as Bobby Watt.
